16 additional UH-72A Lakotas for the U.S. Army

Airbus Helicopters, Inc. has received a contract to deliver 16 additional UH-72A Lakotas for the U.S. Army. The contract is the company’s second this year, highlighting the U.S. Army’s confidence and growth capability of the Lakota program.

Airbus has delivered more than 423 UH-72A Lakota aircraft from its facilities in Columbia, Mississippi, since the award of the first contract in 2005.

2018, March 14th

State of Qatar signs contract for 28 NH90 multirole helicopters

Qatar has signed a contract for the purchase of 28 NH90 military helicopters, during DIMEX, Qatar’s biennial defence exhibition. The agreement includes 16 NH90s in tactical transport (TTH) configuration and 12 NH90s in naval (NFH) configuration. 2018, March 13th

German Tiger helicopters have clocked 20.000 flight hours

The German Army Aviation reached with its UHT Tiger helicopters 20.000 flight hours. The Bundeswehr used the UHT Tiger in Afghanistan and Mali. This year the German Army Aviation will receive its last UHT Tigers out of Airbus Helicopter factory Donauwörth. With nning of 2019 the Military Support Centre Donauwörth start to re-configure 33 UHT Tigers into ASGARD* - Configuration. (*Afghanistan Stabilization German Army Rapid Deployment). 2018, March 9th

Airbus Helicopters signed  Contract for 35 UH-72A Lakotas for the U.S. Army

Airbus Helicopters, Inc. received a contract valued at approximately $273 million to deliver 35 additional UH-72A Lakotas for the United States Army.

Airbus builds the Lakotas at its Columbus, Mississippi facility. Since the programme inception in 2005, Airbus has delivered more than 412 Lakotas. Reference: Airbus Helicopter Press Release, Mar. 9th, 2018.

 


 

2018, February 6th

CH-53K – King Stallion - Offer with Rheinmetall

Rheinmetall and Sikorsky compete together for the "heavy transport helicopter (STH)" project of the Luftwaffe. The aim is to be able to offer the German armed forces a total solution consisting of the CH-53K helicopters as well as performance in maintenance, repair, aining and program support. The CH-53K enters the competition against the Boeing CH-47F Chinook. Reference: Flight Review 04/2018.

 


 

2018, January 31st

Electrifying first flight of VAHANA

After only two years since launch, Vahana successfully completed its first full-scale test on January 31st. The all-electrc, self-piloted, vertical take-off and landing aircraft built by Airbus’ innovation outpost in Silicon Valley, A³, reached a height of five meters (16 feet) before descending safely.
